deep beyond the mind of reason
past thought-scapes of self-identity
exists a feeling

in its power it takes form
mountain-lion with heavy paws
leaves footprints on the rivers edge

reflections scatter rising sun
across her steaming coat
her lungs pure as Andean glaciers
expand and collapse
bringing life to the beast
with each breath

she brings her gaze upon the
valley of her conception
knowing her place within its sacred garden
knowing with each breath her source of life

the same source that brings her the rushing river
the power that pushed the mountains to the sky
the one for which the wind speaks
