The Strings of My Heart

By Mike Daff

The waves crash in, the tide brings despair
My heart is wrenched, laid cold and bare

Does anyone even care?

No movement within, nothing there
Not even a moment's worth of care
I lay there bleeding, I need much repair

Is anyone even there?

With my last breath, and with my last sight
I look beyond, through all of this night
I see You coming, can it be true?
I see those clouds begin to stir and move

Lightning flashes, the sky thunders again
Setting off Something deep within
Picking up speed, a new hope to win
The strings of my heart are being pulled once again

Now I stand tall, not of me but of You
Now there's new joy, and so much still to do
'Cause You've let me know that, yes, we will win
You've pulled those strings of my heart once again

Yes, the strings of my heart are being pulled once again
